Happy New Year to you and yours! 2021 is well and truly over and as we stand at the dawn of a New Year, what better way to start another 365 day marathon than by dreaming of superbly modified cars!
Christmas is over and as many would describe it, a time for family, spent with loved ones, enjoying turkey dinners and swapping presents. And with that in mind we stay with the theme of the holiday season, bringing you a practical 5 seat sportback with enough space for the Mrs and the kids and enough horse power to match a V12 Lamborghini!
ABT are a well known tuning company headquartered in Kempten, Germany and focused on modifying Audi products alongside some other brands in the VW family.
The Audi RS7 itself is hardly a daisy in a garden, 600hp and 800Nm of torque from standard tells its own story. Styling wise, the RS7 does a good job as a more imposing version of a regular A7, still maintaining a level of subtlety that would deceive all but the enthusiasts.
The ABT RS7-R, clearly doesn't do subtlety. The wrap is only illustrational, not forming part of the R transformation, however it goes to show the intention that ABT have with the design. Aggressive, loud and uncompromising, all adjectives that can be used to describe the ABT touch.
The front bumper has been modified with additional blades and a lip, all in premium carbon fibre, increasing the width and showcasing a more hulky stance. The additional carbon fibre front lip creates depth, giving the illusion of a lowered RS7-R and a look more akin to a thoroughbred supercar.
The rear follows a similar path. A rear skirt is added in high gloss carbon, sporting a red RS7-R logo, helping to emphasise the rear diffuser and its striking design. A carbon fibre lip spoiler, also added just below the retractable wing, continues the theme of high quality carbon and subtle highlights to match the overall "look at me" attitude.
As if sound was ever a problem for RennSport Audis, ABT's transformation includes a revised exhaust system doing away with the oval exit pipe and introducing the quad tail pipes.. in what else but carbon... Bellowing, popping, growling everything you would expect from a revised exhaust system.
Carbon fibre remains the prevailing theme throughout the RS7-R with the mirror caps now covered and the interior undergoing a revamp.
Uniqueness comes not only in the design but also in the numbers, with only 125 tunes being commissioned the RS7-R stands out as a rare vehicle, super rare company.
This may not be to everyone's taste but for a family man that still wants a sense of occasion on the way to picking the kids up from school you surely can't go wrong with an ABT product.
