Versione Speciale, Competizione, Limited Edition V12, whatever name is finally given to Ferrari's latest front engined special edition V12, it will certainly be one to remember.
The argument about the last of the naturally aspirated runs wild on forums. The 458 is held in high esteem, even higher than the 488, purely down to the lack of forced induction.
There is a purity that enthusiasts associate with N/A engines when it comes to Ferrari and the newest addition to the family of 2 seater, front engined V12 Berlinettas will be no different.

812 Superfast...
The 812 Superfast was the successor to the F12 but from a styling perspective there was not a unanimous agreement that this was a step forward. The rear of the 812 was fantastic and the additional lights gave it character but the front fascia, particularly the headlights, not so much.
The anticipated new release from Ferrari, however certainly fixes those issues. Starting with the technical changes, the new Speciale/Competizione gets an extra 30hp up to 819hp and even further into the power stratosphere.
The looks are where small changes have made a big difference. The headlights remove the grooves existent on the 812 giving a much cleaner and clearer look around the lights and their design. The front bumper has had a significant redesign with pronounced vents on either end, most likely in carbon fibre, to help draw in air for cooling.
The changes don't stop at the front. The integrated ducktail style boot spoiler works perfectly with the overall design, an elegant way to make the 812 more aggressive without a massive Lamborghini style wing.
The rear bumper and diffusers have also been completely reworked, the lines are sharper than the regular 812 Superfast (if you can call it that) with more pronounced vents on the sides and more slats on a now menacing rear diffuser. The new exhaust has 2 exits instead of 4 but this time shaped like guns from a sci-fi movie based 4000 years in the future!
The side profile remains consistent with the Superfast but there are more changes afoot.
The big yellow Pista like stripe, crossed over by the navy blue contrast on the bonnet seems like too much and it will be interesting to see if prospective owners will have the option to change either of the two.
The fins on the boot hatch finish off the changes and give the impression that they are actually vents from a distance.
This new 812 is undoubtedly amazing to look at and will surely and deservedly sit in the company of the likes of the 599 GTO and F12 tdf.
The excitement is definitely building and for someone who was fairly underwhelmed by the looks of the 812 Superfast, I cannot wait to see the Versione Speciale/Competizione hit the UK roads!
