The For Sale Series: Aston Martin Vengeance by KAHN

The Aston Martin Vanquish has always been a beautiful car. The lines, the shape, the design and the noise capture minds and turn heads.

From the mark 1 to the mark 2, the Vanquish has been a great flagship V12 to push the Aston brand forward, mixing performance and comfort in the form of a grand tourer with power outputs that at the time, rivalled supercars.

So how do you improve on near perfection? You coach build of course!

The Vengeance is a complete coach built rework by KAHN Design. Every panel, curve and shape has been tweaked, slightly changed or subtlety modified to produce a car that has the hallmarks of a Vanquish but the appearance of a completely new model.

A KAHN designs is a popular tuning house and automotive design company, famous for its Range Rovers that populated the 2000s with KAHN emblazoned across the grills.

Afzal Kahn has always been noted for his desire to modify and enhance the look of luxury cars from manufacturer design. The Vengeance is amongst his most daring and potentially divisive venture.

The front grille has been enhanced and is now notably different, the vertical lines in the grille that helped provide the cross hatch effect are now much more pronounced and thicker, almost hiding the corresponding horizontal lines and succeeding in creating what appear like fangs from a distance.

Gone is the Aston badge and in comes the Vengeance logo strategically placed at the bottom of the grille.

A carbon front splitter comes into play, whilst the front bumper has introduced vents in place of the fog lights on the Vanquish.

The grille isn't the only change to the front, additional grooves and curves are now weaved into the bonnet and the fenders, brining a modern touch to the face of the car and adding towards the menacing appearance. The headlights have also been reworked, the double bulb feature of the original Vanquish is removed with a more sleek and curved feature now in place.

The stock wheels have of course been kicked out. In come the 'Roulette in Diamond Cut on Piano Black Alloy Wheels', a unique creation doing well to resemble both a roulette wheel and a stand out set of alloys.

The rear is where the potentially divisive change comes in. The tail lights are completely different from the stock Vanquish, more akin to Zagato lights, transforming the rear which again modernises the design. An integrated boot lid spoiler further modifies the shape and works in sync with the new quad exhaust tips, now slanted diagonally and sculpted around the carbon rear diffuser.

The Vengeance was a bold move, redesigning a classic always comes with the risk of failure but the work from KAHN is no doubt a success.

Rarely does a car this unique hit the open market for sale, so when we noticed this in the classified ads, we had to jump on it.

For a cool £300k you could find yourself in one of the most desirable, rare coach built creations of the 2000s at a price point that surely will only rise in the future.

Redesigning the past never more appropriate for the present.
