The Auto Styling Series - Novitec F8 Tributo!

Updated: Jan 31, 2021

Welcome back and on to another review in the Auto Styling Series where we take some of the most interesting, outlandish and extrovert modifications the market has to offer.

Novitec are a world renown tuning house, continually growing in appeal as the demand for their tunes and products increases each year. So of course it didn't take them long to get their hands on Ferrari's latest mid-engine V8 and put it to work!

The Ferrari F8 Tributo is the latest in a long line of mid engine, 2 seater, V8 berlinettas, throwing back to the 70s where it all began with the Ferrari 308 GTB. More recently you will be familiar with the 360, 458 and the 488, of which the F8 Tributo is the latest. Power in Ferrari's F8 is exactly the same as the 488 Pista, with 710hp, derived from a 3.9L, twin turbo charged engine.

Now with what Novitec have done, in relation to similarities, we can probably end there.

Novitec Ferrari F8 Tributo

Compared with the 458, 488 and more importantly the Speciale and Pista editions, the F8 is slightly lacking in the looks department, in my opinion. With notably different styling, the F8 has more angles, a more modern design but just doesn't look as good as its predecessors and clearly Novitec have gone to correct that. (sorry Ferrari!)

The front bumper has been dressed with carbon fibre as front spoiler lips are added to the corners as well as beneath the nose to break up the paintwork and bring that famous weave to the face of the F8.

The front trunk also has a carbon fibre lid added, accentuating the Pista like groove and increasing the aggression on this F8.

Side skirts, as always, are in carbon fibre alongside the new NF10 ZV LOOK Forged wheels seen here, painted in bronze and with a choice of either 20, 21 or 22". The wheels are created in conjunction with Vossen as the concave, bright, multi-spoke design certainly screams trademark Vossen. Suspension parts are offered to lower the car with adjustable springs and titanium spacers which can be tailored to the owners taste.

Carbon fibre has been added to the rear diffuser in an attempt to highlight the fins and shape of the diffuser which on the F8 can get lost in the overall styling. The carbon fibre rear wing helps to bring forward the lining of the boot lid while the tail lights, which also hide themselves on the regular Tributo, look better particularly with the contrast of this paintwork!

Novitec are known for their extremely loud exhausts and with today's strict emissions and noise regulations, supercars are gradually getting quieter and quieter. Needless to say Novitec have turned the dial up a few notches here with a reworked exhaust system that makes this car growl and scream (if necessary) like most Novitec tunes do. Valve controlled exhaust, sports cats, carbon exhaust tips and the option of Inconel pipes.... any more for any more.

Power is increased from 710hp and 770Nm of torque to 802hp and 898Nm, a massive increase at this level of power making an already "too powerful for the road" machine even more too powerful? Bad English...

Overall Novitec have done a decent job in changing up the F8. This version stands out a little more and tries to make this look more like a Ferrari today's youngers would post as their screen saver. The Novitec F8 shows the power of premium exterior carbon fibre, a fantastic paint job and glossy wheels and serves to highlight that the F8 Tributo is just not made for traditional Ferrari Rosso or Giallo colours.

What's the old saying, you can't polish a ....? Well maybe that's true but you can spray the room with Jean Paul Gaultier instead...
