We recently announced the release of the special edition Ferrari 812 Superfast, which at the time was flittering between the Versione Speciale or Comepetizione names.
With Competizione now the choice, Ferrari have announced the introduction of the convertible version, the Competizione Aperta, following on from the 599 GTO Aperta and the next in line in special edition front engined, convertible V12s.
Design remains similar to the coupe with the only significant change notable on the rear where the carbon fins seen on the coupe are removed, no doubt for a cleaner design on the Aperta model.
The interior remains the same, the pictures released by Ferrari shows plenty of alcantara on the dashboard with carbon fibre expected to be prominent within the interior.
Fortunate owners are likely to be given freedom to spec their cars as they see fit and so the range of individual options, colour schemes and matching stitching should hit the road at some point in 2022.
There's no doubting that any special edition Ferrari always gets the juices flowing, particularly one that carries the Aperta name.
Will the total allocation for both coupe and Aperta already sold out, those of us who weren't on the list will be on the look out at Sloane Street or outside Harrods for what could possibly be Ferrari's last special edition front engined V12 Aperta!
