It's safe to say that the Lamborghini Aventador is iconic. It is the epitome of the loud, brash, 'if I won the lottery I would get one' supercar. However the Aventador, is getting on in years, 10 years to be precise, an absolute lifetime in supercar years with a replacement is well overdue.
In this day and age of electrification and reduced emissions, you could argue that the true supercar is being weeded out of the modern world. Bentley and Rolls Royce are turning towards electrification, the Audi R8 won't be replaced with a combustion engine and even Ferrari have started to downscale, despite squeezing more power (the new 296 GTB is a hybrid V6).
In Sant'Agata though, they didn't get the memo. The Aventador replacement is making some compromise with plug in hybrid technology but the full fat V12 is going nowhere.
Full details on power output and price is yet to come but what we do know is by the end of 2022 we should have the full reveal with orders and possibly deliveries in 2023.
In the meantime enjoy some spy shots of the new car being tested!
