Another last of the N/A V12s? : The Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae LP780-4

Lamborghini may create multiple editions of a model but one thing they can't be accused of (ahem McLaren) is making their line up redundant with frequent model releases.

The V12 has been a stable in the Lamborghini brand, from the Muira to the Aventador, the V12 has been the pinnacle of the model lineup but many would be shocked to learn that the 5 Lambos between these models span almost 60 years of production V12s.

And with that Lamborghini have released what is possibly their final pure V12 edition, the Aventador 780-4 Ultimae.

The Aventador was gifted with a few variants over its 10 year life span. The Aventador, the Anniversario, the SV, the S and most recently the SVJ with elements of these certainly found in the Ultimae.

The Ultimae takes the front fascia from the S, giving the front bumper the distinctive "fang" design of the S, now overlaid with a nero style carbon fibre front lip, adding additional lines and a differentiator from the other Aventador editions.

The carbon fibre side skirts are now more pronounced, again with a very similar design to the nero body kit as the carbon fibre contrasts well against the silver paintwork. The wheels available in either 19" or 20" are the Leirion Forged alloys with the distinctive Y symbol emanating from the Lamborghini centre lock.

The rear of the Ultimae takes from the SVJ with the same aggressive rear diffuser adorned with coloured pinstripes on the slats whilst mid mounted exhaust exits keep a consistent theme with the more recent releases ala Huracan Evo and Aventador SVJ.

The rear wing on the Ultimae reverts back to the active set up with the integrated design seen on the Aventador and S activating at the necessary speeds. The removal of a fixed wing definitely helps to differentiate, give a clean look and tone down some of the hostility the SV and SVJ exude.

Power is up 10hp taking the Ulitmae to 780hp, the most powerful Aventador to date, as the final hurrah for a model that screams success and "I've made it".

Music videos, weddings, supercar hire, poster cars, screensaver cars, the Aventador over the last 10 years has been the epitome of the supercar, managing to keep a fresh look and modern design from 2011 all the way to 2021.

Just for reference the Mclaren 12c and the Aventador were both released in the same year, have a look at both and let that sink in...

Lamborghini have a tough task to follow up on the outgoing V12 but until then the Aventador Ultimae gives us the best of the Aventador world and enough to chew on until the new release in 2022!
